DIY Wedding Gifts #2: Date Jar and Bridal Hanger

In my last post, I showed you the Thumbprint Wedding Guest Tree that I made for my engaged friends, Mandy & Garrett.  In another previous post, I showed you the Stamped Washer Necklace that I made for the bride.I also wanted to try my hand at those cute personalized wedding hangers…..it was surprisingly, not that difficult.  I purchased my craft wire and wooden hangers at Walmart and it was only a few dollars for several hangers.  There are several tutorials online, but I found this YouTube video helpful for getting started on the lettering:  Making Custom Wire Hangers.  Pretty cute idea, I think.
The other gift I put together was a “Date Jar”.  The idea is based on The Dating Divas very cool (and free) “Can ‘O Dates”.  The Divas have free printables for decorating the bucket and great date ideas to print and place inside.  Since I already had Mason jars at home, I printed a bunch of the Divas suggested dates and place them inside a “date jar”.  What a fun idea to keep couples dating each other after the wedding!
