DIY Wedding Gifts #3: Family Name Sign

Last of the wedding gifts…promise.  Smile This one is my favorite though…..a family name sign made out of recycled wood fencing.
I had some old fencing that I saved…just waiting for a fun project!  So, I cut one board into three sections using my jigsaw.  Then I cut one of the thirds in half (the middle section) then in half again…..so you should have 5 pieces.DSCN7780
DSCN7781I fastened the two short pieces to the sign using wood screws.DSCN7785Picture hangers were placed on each side.DSCN7787Once it was all assembled, I stenciled the lettering.  I used white acrylic paint and cardboard stencils that I had in my craft room.  It just didn’t look quite finished though……DSCN7788A jute bow, of course!  Doesn’t every gift need a bow?DSCN7790All done!  A sweet rustic family name sign for the bride & groom’s new home!DSCN7795
Happy Crafting!
